Simple tips for printing, coloring and using our pages at home or in the classroom.

🖨️ Printing tips

  • Paper: regular 8.5 x 11 in (or A4) paper works for crayons and colored pencils. Use cardstock for markers.
  • Settings: choose “Actual size” or “Fit to page”. Black and white printing is all you need.
  • Print one page at a time: type a page number in the “Pages” box to print just a favorite.
  • Markers bleeding? Slip a spare sheet or piece of cardboard under the page.

🍎 Classroom use

Teachers are welcome to print our Etsy printables for their own classroom, as many copies as they need. Please don't share the files with other teachers or post them online. If a colleague would like them too, send them to our shop.

  • Class parties: the 10-page mini pack is perfect for a party table.
  • Early finishers & calm-down corners: a stack of printed windows keeps hands busy quietly.
  • Fine-motor practice: big shapes with bold edges are great for building pencil control.
  • Window display: hang finished pages together to make a classroom “stained glass wall”.

🎨 Coloring tips for glowing windows

  • Pick a color family for the background, like all blues and purples, so the main picture pops.
  • Go light in the sky, bold in the picture. Light colors behind and bright colors in front make it look lit up.
  • Leave the black lines black. They're the “lead” that holds the glass together.
  • Colored pencils: layer two colors in one piece for a shimmery glass look.
  • Crayons: press lightly first, then go over it again for deeper color.
